The Deaconess Foundation Congregational Health Grant Program is designed to support congregations in their efforts to promote health in their communities. “At Deaconess, we envision health holistically. Health is not simply physical, it also includes spiritual, emotional, and intellectual well-being,” comments Rev. Jerry Paul, President and CEO of the Deaconess Foundation. As a result, the congregational health grants cover many efforts, ranging from child health immunization events, to mental health counseling for victims of trauma, to community lunch programs. “We are inspired by the creativity and commitment our local congregations have to improving health in their communities,” says Paul.
